Part 2 - The Rock
It's known as, "the rock." A huge hunk of solid annoyance that eats the doors and side panels of vehicles that dare to pass it. For years it has taunted radio-men in their 4x4 vehicles as they crept up the rugged, steep, narrow pass that leads from the now docile Otay access road to the menacing, kidney-jarring and bolder-strewn Sandra site access path.
It has been beaten, jack-hammered and pummeled over the years, but remains an itch that can not be scratched; a solid stone hemorrhoid that can not be treated, and must be extracted. Today, the main mission of the radio-men is to haul and install tower sections. But "the rock" taunts them, and in doing so, it seals its own fate. As you will see, the radio-men's reaction to "the rock's" pious resistance is unforgiving. |
